OL2007 and Mobile address book problem

Hi
I have just configured a texting account in my OL 2007. All is fine until I
use the mobile address book to send a text. On first use the whole OL system
goes into spasm then crashes. On restarting I find that none of the address
books are available until I remove the mobile one from the account.

Help please as the texting system is moreless useless!

Using Office 2007 Ultimate and Win 7 Ulitmate 32bit.

Cheers

I guess that might depend on what third party add in you are using, and what
their support says

Hi

Valid point! They are using the inbuilt functionality of OL 2007. All they
supplied was an account, user name and password.

I believe this to be an OL2007 issue.

Outlook has no inbuilt mobility functionality.

So how has it created an account and is advertised as being a feature of
OL2007 & 2010?

We seem to be gettig nowhere here as I think we are at cross purposes.

If you open OL and go to the options page at th ebottom of it is a button
control for "mobile options" That is where we start the configuration of the
service, this all works fine and test text messages can be sent sucessfully.

Only when you call the address book in the text mode does the program
collapse and this continues for all address books until the newly created
mobile address book is deleted from the account.

Hope this is clearer as to what the problem is.

Stunned silence!

Further work has proved that a corrupted profile is the problem. In in this
case only appears to cause a problem with the 'MOBILE SERVICE'.

Solution: create a new profile and use that as the default. I found this
after installing Office 2010 beta and finding that it unloaded OL2007 and
replaced it. ( not helpful as I had asked the installation to keep all Office
2007 progs). When you uninstall Office 2010 and use OL2007 it reports that
the profile has been modified and may be problematical, suggests creating a
new profile.

Hope this is helpful.

Stunned silence? Hardly.
It has always has been axiomatic that you never change an Outlook
installation without creating a new Outlook profile. Thanks for confirming
the obvious and for not posting that information in the first place.
