OL2003 when archiving loses attachments

Hi,

running OL2003 and have autoarchiving set for 30days - however, it now
appears that, although archiving happens, attachments in the archived emails
are being deleted or removed. I could not find any setting to turn this
"feature" on or off and am wondering what might be going on here. OL2000 did
not work this way. Is this intentional or is there a setting for this?

Outlook doesn't hold an option to do this natively. Do you have an add-in
installed that could do this?

No, I do not have any add-ins and actually, that reassures me that I'm not
going crazy (thinking there was a setting in Outlook that I missed) -

So what might be causing the loss of attachments when doing the archive - no
attachments in sent items or inbox (or inbox subfolders) -
