Repairing a 2GB .pst for use in OL2003?

Hi there,

I have finally switched off my old W2K machine and gone exclusively over to
XP...I know...I know...Vista has been out for a while...;^)

During my time with Outlook 2000 I hit the 2GB limit a couple of times and
therefore have a couple (or three) of .pst files that are showing;
2,049,206 KB
2,061,541 KB
2,097,136 KB

One of these ISTR is a near copy of another...

These would at least load into OL2000 so I could read some older posts as &
when I needed.

I have setup OL2003 to use the new Unicode format so no more 2GB limits and
I thought it would be an easy task to load the oversize .pst files in to
either read as & when needed or better still to copy or move the content out
into another Personal Folders file without the limit to retain them
properly.

Then, when I was feeling bored I might finally be able to properly sort them
out into archives grouped by year or something. :)

However OL2003 won't load the oversize .pst files in like OL200 used to so I
am guessing I might need to run a repair or something on the oversize .pst
before loading them into OL2003.

What/how is it best to go about this please?

I have seen reference to ScanPST, PST2GB and a commercial programme called
Advanced Outlook Repair which ticked all the boxes and I was going to buy
until I saw the price - $249 to be used once is too steep for me.

Any hints/tips/how-to's etc. gratefully received.

Thanks for the quick reply Diane,

I did see that page but I notice that between 25-50MB of data is lost for
good so I thought I would see if there is a better way before I go down this
road.

Wish I could warrant the $249 for Advanced Outlook Repair - it looks the
business!

Thanks & kind regards,
