OL2003: Unable to open activities tab in shared contacts

G

Guest

Scenario: have complete access to other user contacts, calendar, journal,
notes, tasks etc. I open other user contact folder and open one of the
contacts that contain notes, journal & tasks etc. I click on the activities
tab of that contact and get error: "The operation failed. An object could not
be found."

I am however able to open each folder seperately i.e. journal, notes,
contacts etc. The issue with that, is when going file>open other user folder
& choosing journal, it only shows the local clients contacts for configuring
the journal and not the shared contacts.
These are both OL2K3 clients on exchange server.
It seems odd to me that this function would not be available with all the
permissioning options available.

Am I missing a process somewhere and if so please provide info as to how to
properly configure this. Also if this is an exchange server issue where to
start looking for possible resolution to allow this function. Lastly, Is this
function of opening the activities tab in a shared contact only available
through public folders with a central contact group?

Thanks in advance,

Newtek

This is normal behavior. The Activities tab is designed to show the user a consolidated view of activities in their own mailbox or any one .pst file. You should also be able to create new activity groups for other folders that show in the Folder List. You will not be able to include any folder that does not appear in that list.
