OL2003 mailbox size limit

system environment: Exchange 2003 (SBS), Outlook 2003, no mailbox size
limits set (in Exchange system administrator)

We've got some rather large mailboxes (>2GB). As long as I use online mode
in Outlook, everything works fine. But I'd like to use cache mode instead.
Unfortunately Outlook tells me that my mailbox exceeds the mailbox size
limit, while trying to synchronize. Synchronization stops. The ost-file is
2076328960 bytes in size. I thought, Outlook 2003 can handle up to 20GB?
Wheres

Can anyone help?

Thanks,
Andreas

Then you might want to check out that KB article since it's about situations
where OL2003 will create ANSI OSTs as opposed to UniCode OSTs.

....thanks again, I'm already trying to boost my AD configuration
accordingly. Do you by any chance know of a way to just find out what format
my current ost is?

I'm not sure if it's exposed for ost's like it is for psts - you could try a
new profile and as long as Unicode osts are not disabled by policy, it
should create one.
