Hi!

Just upgrading from Office 2000 SP3 to Office 2003 we ran into a strange
problem.

We used to have server based rules for sending a copy of any received mail
to an external mail account. This is a "cheap workaround" now and then, when
somebody is traveling and wants a copy of their e-mail forwarded to some
webmail.

In OL2003 it seems that the rule only works for internal recipients. As soon
as I specify an external SMTP address, nothing happens.

Any solutions for this problem?

Best regards,

Jens-Peter

Naaa... Just found it myself. We are up and running now :)

Thanks anyway!

Have you thought about letting them use OWA instead of forwarding?

Yes. The problem is security.

The server is also running as a file server, so *if* it is compromised it
would be a disaster.

Of course we could build a frontend Exch. Server, but we are thinking of a
Citrix solution...

Gotcha. I might also put in a FE server and lock it down tightly and force
SSL for OWA ....can be very handy.
