OL2003 Arranged by Conversation - can I override the grouping?

I have my mailbox arranged by conversation. This groups messages with the
same subject.

If I have several msgs with the subject "misc", they are grouped together.
In some cases, I'd like the msgs to not be grouped together. I have tried
editing a msg and changing the subject, but it remains grouped with the
other "misc" msgs, even after closing and re-opening OL.

Is there a way to remove a msg from a conversation group?
