OL2002 and archiving

Alain ROGER

Hi,

I reinstall my computer with Outlook 2002 instead of 2000 (like i had
before).
With OL2000, i used to have 2 pst files :
- week.pst (with all emails, calendar, ...) of last 7 days
- archive.pst (with all emails, calendar, ...) of all days except last 7
days.

When i imported them to OL2002, i decided to have to same structure, so i
update my settings for autoarchiving for 1 week of email in my
week.pst...all the rest should be sent to archive.pst.

Since i have OL2002, I tried several times to archive my emails to archive
pst file, but emails older than 7 days are still in my week.pst file...

does exist some bugs on OL2002 regarding to archiving ?

or should i do differently ?
thanks.

Alain

Differently indeed.

First; don't import but just connect the file by File-> Open-> Outlook Data
File...
Second; the reason why the archive "doesn't work" is because it archives
based on the modified date not the received date. Since you imported the
pst-file all modified dates are set to the time of importing.
