OL2000 crashes when opened with "a program is trying to access e-m

I have recently migrated my Office 2000 to a new laptop from my old one

I sucessfully imported my .pst files

I then updated my Office 2000 from the web.

Now whenever I try to open Outlook I get the message "a program is trying to
access e-mail addresses you have stored in outlook" - the prompt continuously
flashes as it refreshes, trying to press any of the response icons does not
work, then after about 10 seconds, Outlook closes. Therefore I no lonfer have
any Outlook email from my laptop - am relying upon web based email - not good
for my business

Anyone any ideas?

Never import a PST. It's unnecessary and can lead to mail profile
corruption.

Did you install Outlook in Internet Mail Only mode or Corporate/Workgroup
mode?
