OL Connector - Sydn Folders.

Just started using OL connector with 3 hotmail.com accounts,

The initial Send/Receive process took a LONG time and kind of got stuck
after a while.

After I noticed a lot of download activity in the status bar.

Prior to installing connector the relevant PST file for each hotmail acct.
was virtually a shadow copy of the online version.

I basically understand the 3 options in Outlook Connector > Download mode.
Where is all the downloaded data being stored in my system... in each
account's PST or... ?

Almost correct, it is being stored in ost-files as they are off-line copies
(or shadow-copy as you called it).

That it takes a long time is probably because you had a lot of data in those
3 accounts.
There is an ost-file per Hotmail account. The ost-files are stored in;
%LOCALAPPDATA\Microsoft\Outlook

I see, thanks for that.

I also see the hotmail pst's have been replaced with ost's.
Can these be moved to a different location the same as for a pst?

I'm also impressed by the improvement in response during broswing messages &
folders etc.

No, you cannot change the location of these files. There is no need to back
up these files either as the original is still on the server. In case of a
reformat of the system you can simply sync with the Hotmail servers to
recreate the ost-file.

Yup, when compared to the standard HTTP connection the Outlook Connector is
bliss when it comes to performance and functionality.
