OL 2002 Display of Contact Names...?

K

Kenneth

Howdy,

I am running Outlook 2002...

After too many minutes with the help file, I still can't
find out how to get Contacts in my address book to display
as:

Jones, Joseph

instead of

Joseph Jones

Might you help?

Sincere thanks,

You're most welcome. This is a well hidden dialog few find on their own.

Hi again Russ,

You helped me with this issue on my Outlook 2002 system, but
now I am having an odd problem on a system running Outlook
2000 (and, as this might be of significance, both instances
of Outlook point to the same PST using Public
Sharefolder...)

Right now on the Outlook 2000 system, I clicked New | To and
saw that my contacts were displaying as "Russ Valentine" but
I wanted "Valentine, Russ."

In 2000, I know how to change that, and so clicked Tools |
Options | Contact Options only to find:

Default full name order: Last First
Default file as order: Last, First

Should not those settings affect the displayed list as I
wished?

Thanks for your thoughts on this,

Hi again,

I see now that I was tweaking the wrong setting.

Thanks again,

No. You still need to change the setting in the Outlook Address Book, not
the Contacts Folder. Different location in this version:
Tools menu > Services > Highlight the Outlook Address Book service > Click
Properties > Set sort order
