OL 2000 won't send emails

I searched and found a few threads about this subject but none with this
specific issue: OL 2000 on a laptop with XP sends ok at home, but recently at
a hotel with wireless internet access provided by the hotel - it received
emails fine but wouldn't send. I didn't have enough time to try and fix
it-does anyone have any solutions for this?

Aloha AV,

My first guess would be that either the hotel's firewall prohibited send
or maybe your ISP doesn't accept sent messages from IP addresses outside
their network. Some ISPs do that as an anti-spam measure.

Thanks for the response. I was able to send with a yahoo account-does that
fit your theory?

Aloha AV,

It fits with the second one, yes. That your ISP doesn't accept message from
IP addresses outside their network. In those situations we usually just
send thru a different account (like Yahoo perhaps) while we're off the ISP's
network.
