Okay, what's the final answer about spyware in Windows media Player?

I've got two guys in the break-room who constantly argue about the
existence of spyware in versions of Windows Media Player that come with
(or are made for) WinXP.

Does anyone in this NG know? Is there spyware in WMP or not?
 
of course not
if it did exist there were be an uproar of gigantic magnitude....
also the linux fanatics would be having a party running around in penguin
suites.

There is spywre in KDE och Gnome too.

agreed, thats why i always use media player classic (with QT alternative
plugin)
