From what has been posted here, its dangerous to even attempt to ask this
question ... but with all the links posted, not one gives a direct link to
immediate support...(ducking). I'm not in for insults, please.

Just direct me...I cannot drag a URL link to my OE "Links" anymore with
IE7 -- as I did with IE 6, at least not the same way (yes! I've looked, used
HELP, used SUPPORT...

Bye.

Bye.
If I follow you, dragging a link to the +* at the top which is 'add to
favorites' does not do anything. Yet right clicking the link seems to
have an add to favorites option. Also dragging the link to 'favorites'
on the text tool bar and pausing does open favorites, and I can then
move down (still holding the mouse button down) and pick where I want to
drop the link in 'favorites'. So it does drag and drop in a fashion.

Thank you ... no I have normally in IE6, merely dragged a URL (which then
formed a circle of sorts) to my LINKs on the taskbar -- they hold all of my
most used links -- not Favorites-- so when, for example, I am in a website,
and want to obtain the tinyURL, I merely went to LINKS and clicked on that
(far right IE taskbar) opening the links I've saved in it, like weather.com,
tinyURL, Google, Yahoo, et al ..and then the selection popped up -- if it
was tinyURl, it gave me the url for the site I was in ...

I hope that helps.

Al, one new finding ... I just noticed LINKS are still on my taskbar, with
my START button, with the browser open, but selecting tinyurl now does not
open up to give me the tinyurl for the site I was in...it's the main
www.tinryurl.com site, now.

I found a registry patch or fix for IE7 to remove the "links" folder.
Wish I could further help, but I hated that folder. Found no use for
it. Oh well. Now you've made me uncover the fact that I don't know
how I did it.... :-)

You might get better help if you posted this question to an IE group.

found this on www.tinyurl.com

"Once this is on your toolbar, you'll be able to make a TinyURL at the click
of a button. By clicking on the toolbar button, a TinyURL will be created
for the page you are currently at.

This is compatible with most web browsers and platforms as long as your
bookmarks or favorites allow javascript. The links toolbar may not be
visible in all setups and in most browsers, you can enable it in the
View->Toolbars menu of your web browser. You can also put it in your
bookmarks instead of the links toolbar."

I used my links access on my toolbar in OE6 daily ... I'll email tinyurl ...
;-) but, I did find out how to see the links (View/Links) in OE7 - but the
tinyurl does not open with that url of the website I am on...as it used to
do. The aforementioned url has to still be entered, which wasn't the case in
OE6.

thank you

Grumbling again, Bear ... what users look for unless we're MS MVP-IE, is
something in the MS NGs about IE 7 or XP Pro

Sorry folks.

Don't kill the messenger: It's not my fault MS chose not to create an
IE7-specific, English language newsgroup. If you need assistance with IE7,
please post in IE General newsgroup.
