Ojects order wrong from Master layout to preview

I lay out the title box with a logo over it in master layout and it is
covered up when I go to view the slides. Everything looks right and I reset
the oject order, but I cannot get the master to look like the slides using
the master.

I believe this is probably by design, as I get the same results here in PPT
2003 and 2000.

It's always been this way, at least since v3.

Stuff on the master is always behind stuff on individual slides; the
placeholders are on the master but PPT sees the stuff IN placeholders as being
on the individual slides, so placeholder content on a slide always covers
anything from the master.
