OHOH, Third Build already frooze and crashed... ! :O

Ok,

I was playing Call of Duty 4... and then I decided to bring down the noise
of the fans a bit... I make them spin slower... the temperature rises a few
degrees...

And then a few seconds later... bzbzbzbzbzbzbzbzbzb.. strange sound on
speakers...

And the system freezes.

I also noticed something in the bios menu:

APM Configuration options are missing.

Maybe the power supply went bad... maybe from all the power surges... or
maybe from thunder storm... lots and lots of thunder storms lately...

Could be interference from gsm's... the old pentium III monitor gets some
flickers now and then.... maybe wireless network intereference who knows..

But my safest bet so far is probably power supply bad...

This is more or less the worst thing that could happen.

Whoam... there goes the new system again... it just crashed again...

IRQ problem..

However I did read about windows xp x64 edition having some bug which caused
asus a8n32-sli motherboards to crash. I think it was service pack 3 or 2
related or so. I looked in add/remove software progam but there was no info
about service packs or so...

Oh man... sooooo much work.... and now probably all for nothing ?!?

Gje I'll try knoppix or so from boot cd... to see what happens...

Then me go look for new power supply..

Maybe I still have warranty on it or so...

Gjez.

Bye,
Skybuck.

Are you sure that the system did not commit suicide? There was a South Park
episode in which Paris Hilton's little dog got a gun and blew its head off.
Did you ever abuse your computer? Did you ever touch it inappropriately?

No surprise, did you not listen to ANYTHING you were told.

not you that's for sure

Checked the ram yet?

Even the overclocked pentium III 450 mhz to 600 mhz was crashing.

I clocked it back to 450 mhz...

I live in the Netherlands were temperatures are rising more quickly than
anywhere else in the world and my appartment is not very well isolated...

Currently the temperature inside my living room is 27 degrees celcius.

I kinda enjoy sitting behind my PIII...

Now I am left wondering what to do...

The company which sold the power supply went out of bussiness... and the
power supply was very costly... 127 euro's.

I already spent 400 euro's on repairs and replacements... this is starting
to get out of hand...

I am not even sure if the power supply is bad... might be memory modules...
or maybe even something else like the cpu itself etc.

Now the big disadventage of building a computer yourself is starting to
become apperent:

I do not have the necessary "debugging" equipment to figure out what's
broken this time...

Best I could do is reduce to minimum setup... which isn't that much
different and then start guessing.

Maybe I try minimum setup later with one memory chip... to see if it's maybe
the memory... yeah I think that's a good plan.. and also no more x-fi
soundblaster...

Bye,
Skybuck.

The problem is that you have lethally bad PC karma. You are the Bane
of Motherboards, the Box Slayer, the AntiBios, the Vaporizer. After
spending all that money, it will surely blow up.

Buy an HP and never open the box.

You have been warned.

I disagree.

The real problem is Skybuck hasn't discovered he has a penis yet.
When he figures out how that baby works, maybe he'll leave the rest of
us alone?

Neither do most computer shops, which merely try components in another
computer until they encounter failure.
Best I could do is reduce to minimum setup... which isn't that much
different and then start guessing.

You should do that and measure all voltages with a meter and run a
good memory diagnostic for hours. Then add 1 component at a time and
test, repeating until everything is installed.

I doubt that claim has any basis in reality. Hopefully global warming
will fix the 'low countries' once and for all.

It is mid winter here, and yesterday the max outdoor temp was 27C.

With your trusty tube of dick lube no doubt.

Does it have a floppy drive ?

See if it'll boot DOS ! There are still some decent DOS based diagnostics out
there (I hope).

The real problem is that everyone complains here but no-one complains at
his provider.

<mailto:[email protected]>
is where you all should complain if you're fed up with SkyFucks posts.
Simple as that.

Other than being annoyed by his stupidity, exactly what huge
transgression of Usenet conventions has he committed?

My ISP limits the group number I can post to at once to 4. They claim
6 in their policy, but the number is 4.

There is, however, no rule on it, nor is it illegal to cross-post.

It IS illegal when it is SPAM.

Pretty much any retard with any position on life can post into Usenet,
and there isn't anything you holier than though dumbfucks can do about
it.

Call him the idiot that he is and be done with it.

You dipshits are worse than he is with your stupid prancing around
behind his heels as if you have some legitimate bone to pick.

Again... where is the "abuse"? It is a goddamned shame that when one of
you retards complains that if the complaint isn't valid, it should be YOU
that loses your access.

Goddamned school marm ****ing prudes. Grow the **** up.

It's a clear violation of the netiquette to post unrelated stuff in
newsgroup. Since he has been advised to stop it by lots of people for a
long time and also since he uses the newsgroups more like a personal
diary than participating on the ongoing discussions his postings
probably have reached a level of SPAM which as you say is illegal.

BS. Of course there are general rules for posting on the UseNet:
<http://www.faqs.org/faqs/usenet/posting-rules/>

These rules are agreed upon by virtually all providers, and you usually
agree to them, too, when agreeing to the terms of your usenet provider.
And because of this providers usually insert a complaint address in all
postings made via them (in your case its (e-mail address removed)). Don't be
fooled that they don't care because they do as providers not caring for
complaints risk to loose their newsfeed. Of course it depends on the
level of complaints, if for example I would complain to
(e-mail address removed) that you're an offending prick then they very likely
won't care. In case of SkyFuck they very likely will.
It IS illegal when it is SPAM.

Yeah, whatever you think. You're not the first wanker that though Usenet
is fully unrestricted (which it is not) and completely anonymous.

Yeah, right. Maybe it still hasn't reached you bushwhackers yet but in
these parts of the world that have reached a certain level of
civilization there are some agreed rules people life after:
Goddamned school marm ****ing prudes. Grow the **** up.

Yeah, whatever. Didn't your goats give head today?

"Nettiquette" is NOT a set of rules. dipshit. Otherwise I would have
to refrain from describing you as you are.

The only rules he has to follow are those set forth by his ISP, and
cross posting is NOT among them. Nor are any other of your overt group
gumming up retorts, even though they are just as ****ing retarded.

S

Wrong, idiot. If you do not even know what SPAM is, you should likely
stay OUT of attempting to be a ****ing Usenet netkkkop.

You are very poor at interpreting the facts, when you set about making
them up as you go along.

S

StickThatInYourPipeAndSmokeIt

BS. Of course there are general rules for posting on the UseNet:
<http://www.faqs.org/faqs/usenet/posting-rules/>

But they are NOT rules, and they are NOT bound by ANY laws.

Ever heard of free speech, dork?

In the final analysis, you cannot tell anyone what they can and cannot
post, and even your ISP is very limited in what they can "act" on, when
some dopey **** like you makes a complaint.

Wrong. If you send a "annoying prick" complaint, YOU are likely to be
the only one that is considered as an "annoying prick", and your
complaint will get ignored, even though you may receive an email which
states that your complaint is being acted on. It was... filed in file
13, where it belongs.

Life isn't that ****ing tragic, boy. Get over it, and stop being a
piss and moan dipshit.

S

StickThatInYourPipeAndSmokeIt

Yeah, whatever you think. You're not the first wanker that though Usenet
is fully unrestricted (which it is not) and completely anonymous.
You're a goddamned idiot. Posting 50 times like he does is NOT illegal
ANYWHERE, and it is NOT SPAM, so you, and your retarded mindset can
simply **** off and die.

If I commit an illegal act, such as posting a threat or an illegal
binary, THEN you can act.

If all you want to do is piss and moan about content, then you piss and
moans do not belong here either, by nature of your own "rules".

In other words... Christ, dumbass, get over it!
