Offline Folder Functionality Thru a VPN

Dear All,

Question about Offline Folders via VPN access.

Will the same interaction in an office environment occur
once someone connects via a VPN to an office.

In other words, the Synchronization window appears
informing of current synchronization.

Also, will the user be able to go to network places> view
the domain name, click on it and get a patch tp his folder
that is being set a offline folder or does a manual mappng
has to be done in the system prior to having him/her access
the network from a VPN?
