I have a issue where a hard drive partially failed. This laptop user had his
My Documents folder redirected to a company server. He then used offline
files and folders to cache a copy of his My Documents back to his laptop bor
when he was travelling. The problem is that apparently these offline files
are not stored in the Laptop's My Documents folder. Instead the cached
offline files get stored in C:\%Windir%\CSC which is a hidden folder.
Furthermore, the files in this CSC folder do not appear as "document.xls"
instead they are a cryptic name and file extension. Our data recovery efforts
have recovered the the \CSC folder but not his user profile so we can't log
in as him and get at the cryptically named files in \CSC. Does anyone know of
a tool or other method that would allow me to turn this pile of uselessly
named files into his cached copy of his My Documents?
