Offline Files Question

I had offline files enabled for a number of network
shares. I have since departed my job and converted my XP
laptop to a workgroup from the company domain. Now I
cannot access the offline files.

Any ideas?
 
Now I think I really screwed up. I was trying to copy
the files out of the Offline Files Folder and was getting
access denied messages. I tried turning off offline
files, now the folder is empty.

Can the local copies really be gone?
