Offline files on XP

Les

Hi all,

I've got a problem with an XP Pro SP1 Toshiba notebook.

We are using offline files from a Windows 2000 Server.
Syncs at log on and log off. During the day when the
notebook is logged into the network, the offline files
cache disconnects from the network and says that it is
offline. The user then has to manually reconnect the
offline file cache. We have already deleted and restarted
the offline file cache database.

There are three users running offline files on Windows XP
sp1. And only one user is having this problem. Any ideas?

This is a known issue and MS has issued both a hotfix or a
workaround...

Take a look at
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;810907 which
describes the hotfix you can obtain from MS at no cost.

The other option is to disable SMB signing via Group Policy.
