Offline content problem

When notebook PC users running W2K Pro return to the
office and sychronize their offline content to the W2K
File Server, new subfolders and files created in their
absense by inhouse users in the parent directories that
are marked on the notebook for offline content do not
automatically synchronize. The little offline content
symbol doesn't appear on their file or folder icons.

On the server on the sharing tab for the parent folders,
under caching, I change the setting to: Automatic Caching
of Documents. Now, when the notebook PC is connected to
the network and the user opens a file in one of the new
directories, the directory and it's contents become
available offline (and the the little symbol appears on
the file and folder icons indicting this).

This is fine, but doesn't really work for us, because the
parent directory has lots on new folder and files created
all the time. It's unworkable for the offline user, when
online, to find them all and open them to make their
content available offline.

The only work around is to unselect the parent
folder's "Make content available offline" setting and then
reselect it. This is very time consuming.

Is there a way to force new file and folders created in
offline available parent folders, to automatically
synchronize when remote users connect to the network?

Thanks,
Lee
