Office2000 fails to install on XP Home

The problem is that the windows\installer folder is read
only, but when I change the attributes it automatically
reverts back to read only.
Using NTFS.
Sharing the folder is not enabled because it is a system
folder.

Does anyone know how to get around this without having to
upgrade to OfficeXP?

The folder is not read only. That's just a place hold there for some
reason. If you can supply an error message please post it in the Office
Newsgroup
