Yes, it will. And all the way up to the current verion - 2007. Office 2000
has services packs and updates - install them.

Saucy

It has been reported that Office 2000 works with Windows Vista.
Later versions will work and are supported with Windows Vista.

If you are a consumer without a contract with Microsoft most support for
Office 2000 has ended:
http://support.microsoft.com/lifecycle/?p1=2484
That means there may be vulnerabilities and other issues that may not be
resolved.

My Parents Have Encountered Compatibility Problems With Windows Vista RTM
And Microsoft Office 2003, Just FYI. If Microsoft Office 2003 Does Not Work
With Windows Vista Correctly, Microsoft Office 2000 Probably Won't Work
Correctly Either, Just FYI

P.S. My Parent's Recently Removed 64 Bit Windows Vista RTM And Returned To
64 Bit Windows XP SP2 Due To The Compatibility Problems That Occurred With
Microsoft Office 2003 SP2 On Their Computer, Just FYI.

And why do your parents need the 64bit Windows OS? Are they into CAD or
Video? Just FYI. Maybe they are producing the Kevin Putzke Story with a
major part dedicated to the USPS? Just FYI.

Just FYI.

Maybe it is WHO installed the Office on THEIR computer. Just FYI.

For others it works! Just FYI.

Saucy is correct! Just to give add a link with official confirmation:

Description of the versions of Office that are supported on Windows
Vista
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/932087

There is a small issue when using Outlook 2000 for Internet email on Vista;
you need to manually register wab32.dll. See steps described, here:
http://miniburb.wordpress.com/outlook-2000-on-vista/

And what Saucy said about Service Packs and hotfixes - again, totally
correct! Install them:

Hope it helps,

Will Office 2000 work with Windows Vista? If not what version will?

If you already have it, why not try it and see? If it does not work, I'd
suggest you try OpenOffice.org. It will probably do everything you need
and won't cost a nickel.

Office 2003 and 2007 are both fully compatible with Vista. Office XP and
2000 are mostly useable, just don't bother with Outlook and you should be
OK.

The Problem Went Away After They Returned To 64 Bit Windows XP SP2, Just
FYI.

It Runs A Whole Lot Better On Their Computer Than 32 Bit Windows XP SP2 Pro
Edition (64 Bit XP SP2 Is Based On The Windows Server 2003 SP2 Line Of
Code), Just FYI.

Same old response. You must get a hardon talking about OpenOffice. That is
your answer to everything. Oops. You have a problem with Word? Install
OpenOffice, it won't cost you a nickle? Problems with PowerPoint? Install
OpenOffice. Forget about troubleshooting your problem, OpenOffice will save
the world.

Got news for you. The problem will still be there if they putz around with
OpenOffice! They already paid for Microsoft Office. They should fix their
issue and not even give OpenOffice a thought. Same thing applies to
Ubuntu/Linux. Don't even think about it. Linux is free and nobody wants
it. What does that say about Linux?

Give it a rest.

Just FYI.

Just FYI. What could they possibly do with 64bit Windows Just FYI? EMail,
surfing? They problably don't do anything of importance tha justifies 64bit
Windows, Just FYI. Was it YOU who talked them into it? Just FYI.

Just FYI

I believe if you reread (or read for the first time) my responses, you
will find that I usually recommend that for an interim solution until the
problem is solved - not as the ultimate solution. The point is to be able
to get work done until the problem is resolved. The boss is not terribly
impress if you tell her "I'll get to it as soon as I can - my new vista
and MS office don't seem to be able to work together so I'm
troubleshooting the problem". Seems much better to me to say "I'm on that
in a few minutes. I'm having trouble getting vista and MS office to
cooperate, but I'm found an interim workaround until the problem is solved".

Aboslutely - they should fix the issue. But most employers or customers
don't want you to stop working for a few days while you hunt for a
solution. I don't recall mentioning Linux - what about it?
Give it a rest.

I will continue to try to help folks solve problems. Both immediate and
long term.

Just FYI.

We Took Advantage Of The Windows XP 32 Bit to 64 Bit Windows XP Trade In
Offer While It Was Still Being Offered, It Runs A Whole Lot Better Than 32
Bit Windows XP SP2 (A Whole Lot Less Computer Problems), Just FYI.+

The best office software for Vista is Open Office 2.2
IMHO
