Can you load Microsoft office onto more than one computer as I just bought a
Acer notebook and only the trial version is loaded, while I have it on my
main computer?

Only if you have a retail edition of Office, and not any OEM version
The actual EULA on your version of Office will show the entitlement
You have to uninstall any Trial & Activation assistant, reboot, prior to
installing any paid for version

Not necessarily. Each version of Office has a EULA. You need to read the one for
that particular version.
