Office Pro 2007 Won't Open - Fixes Don't Work

When I try to open Microsoft Office, I get an error message: Cannot start
Microsoft Office Outlook. Cannot Open the Outlook Windson. I went through the
process of repairing damaged Personal Folders PST file using Scanpst.exe. It
fixed errorts but Microsoft Office will still not open. Another solution I
found is to use the oversized PST and OST crop tool. However, the Microsoft
website does not list the 2007 Professional additon as one of the software
packages this applies to. Should I run it or is there another fix I have not
tried?

I've tried to restore to an earlier date but that has not worked. I have not
tried to reinstall.

Try using the mail applet in the control panel, to add a new data file, set
it as default & remove the 'old' data file
Does Outlook now open?

The pst crop tool is designed for pre 2003 versions of the data file, which
uses an Ansi format for the data file. Using this format there is a size
limitation on the data file. Versions since 2003 use a unicode format data
file which doesnt have this size limitation - So no, at this stage dont use
the tool
