installed "OEM Version".

You'll need to visit the Office Update web site and download
all the updates available for Office 2000, beginning with
Service Pack 3 for Office 2000.

Yes it will work. Some versions of Office 2000 required activation. If you
have already activated it on another computer you may have to phone
Microsoft to activate it again.
