Office Outlook failing to open .pdf faxes

At our company we get TONS of faxes into our mailboxes. At least fiance. With
XP we found a way to fix the issue of faxes not loading, by emptying the
"temporary" OLK folder.

Yea... we downgraded to Vista on a few of our new machines. Vista loves to
hide everything it can... I've been able to find the outlook.content folder
through the registry settings, but nothing is in there. I've deleted
everything that I would have deleted on XP to get things rolling again..
Vista seems to really have a problem with IT poking around in it. Any ideas?

In XP I would empty the OLK folder and reassign the Outlook security reg
entry to the TEMP folder. TEMP would be emptied by the user whenever this
problem started up again. When the folder became too large, purging it solved
the problem.

In Vista it doesnt solve the issue at all.

Periodically, users may experience an issue opening attachments particularly
if they receive alot of them. The error may state that Outlook can't create
the file and/or that you need to check permissions on the folder. Normally
this indicates that the Temporary Internet Files folder (OLKxx) that Outlook
uses for attachments has become full.

This usually only happens when the user has Outlook open, opens an email
with an attachment, opens the attachment, then closes the email while leaving
the attachment open which leaves a copy of the attachment in the temp folder.
In the past, the steps to clean out the folder have been to check the
location of the folder by opening the registry (ie:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Outlook\Security for Outlook
2003) and then follow these instructions:

Open the OutlookSecureTempFolder registry key.
Copy the path from the key.
Open Explorer
Paste the address in the Address Bar and press Enter
However, now there is a tool available:

It has command line available and you can even use it with logon scripts to
perform regular maintenance.

Check to see if this will work for you.

Are you using Outlook 2007 on vista?

I've discovered outlook 2007 seems to create a new securetemp folder for
each attachment/session. (check the registry path, then open the
outlook.content folder side by side with outlook and open and close
attachments then check the registry again).
