I am experiencing problems as described in KB art.nrs 830903 and 328170. The
bypass works only for a limited time. Every now and then the problems shows
up and rebooting the workstation then helps (for a while). There seems to be
a hotfix for this problem, which I donot have. The hotfix comes as a
modified/fixed SHELL32.dll as I understand well.
Can anyone help me with this? Where can I get it?

Hi,

To obtain a hotfix (they are free for the asking), you must do as is
described in the articles you listed and contact Microsoft Product Support.
This is the only way to safely obtain them.

That sort of tentative fix as described in the 830903 is only provided
to people who are actually having the problem, as it may yet be revised
and they do not want it out for general use until it is final. So you
have to call Support at Microsoft. Immediately say you are wanting the
fix for 830903 because you are experiencing the symptoms, and you will
not be charged. You may be quizzed slightly on symptoms, and asked to
provide feedback on any problems that arise
