office assistant resets on each restart

office 2k sp3/xp pro sp2

can someone help on this small irritation?
I generally just have Outlook running, with the robot assistant, but each
time I have to either restart Outlook or reboot, it resets to the
paperclip.

NB: I'm on a corporate LAN, using roaming profiles.

Is there an abvious spot where the appropruiate data lives?
