Office and Outlook Connector

My new computer has Office 2003 small biz. It doesn't seem to have Outlook
Connector - true? I have become used to having email on both the local
machine AND on the MS server. Can I install Office Student/Teacher version
over Office Small Business and regain that email/contact/calendar
functionality?

Hi Bob,

Office 2003 Small Business does include a fully functional Microsoft
Outlook. that means you can use it locally or connect it to an Exchange
Server. Small business version includes Business contact manager, but that
does not effect your ability to talk to a server.

The MSN connector? you need to install it by logging into your msn account
and downloading it. If you mean some other connector, we'll need more
information. If you are using Exchange server there is no connector, but you
need to set the exchange mailbox as the default message store (tools,
accounts, view or change accounts)

Outlook is the same version is small business and student & teacher.

Diane, Burt

Thank you for the swift revert. They were helpful and appreciated.

I guess my base question is; Do I need Outlook connector to obtain the
funtionality I had on the old PC? IOW - Will Outlook Connector (what it
was called on the old PC w/Office3 2003) allow me to receive and utilize
email (and calendar, contacts etc) from my PC w/o having to access the MS
server each time? I travel frequently and also need to have all these items
on the MS server as well. I am not connected to a large local network - just
my own humble LAN - so I don't think I qualify as a prospective Exchange
Server user - though maybe I misunderstand what the Exchange Server system
provides.

Thanks, Bob

My understanding is that Outlook will connect to a paid MSN mail account
(Hotmail) without the connector. I know this because I do it. what I've
gathered about the connector is that you'll be able to access more of the
features of the MSN account, like the calendar and contacts, and use the MSN
data store as your delivery location.
