Are you using the same computer when you access the floppy? Or are you
maybe trying to open the file in WordPad (the text processing format that
comes with Windows) on a different computer?

the same computer. Its an excel spreadsheet that I have in a folder on the
hard drive. I added to it and then tried to send spreadsheet to floppy. It
showed spread sheet on floppy but when you open it its all gibberish.

Not saving as HTML (or another format) are you?

replaced the floppy drive, still no help. Strange, I used Nero and recorded
the excel spreadsheet to a CD-R and it turned out perfect !! Why it won't do
it on a floppy is beyond me, but I add stuff to that spread sheet each week
and need it to be on a floppy.

All word and excel documents that have been transferred from another
computer also using XP, via transfer wizard, to this computer cannot be
copied to a floppy disc without turning to rubbish.

OK

the USB stick should be an ideal solution.

If you do want to get the floppy working...just wondering if all data copied
to it is corrupted...
or is it just MS Office?

If all data is corrupted (and since you mentioned you replaced the drive)
maybe the problem is with the data cable???
