Please define "will not install".

Exactly what happens when you try? Do you get an error message? If so, what
is it?

On the off chance that you're experiencing the common "There Is No License"
Error when you try, check

it says that there are no microsoft office products on the computer and consiquently won't install it states that hard disk search failed

In that case, you must have purchased an Upgrade version of Office. Unless
you have one of the qualifying products (it should list them on the CD or
box), you can't use it. Office 2000 is not a qualifying product for the
Office 97 Upgrade CD.

it should me not a problem for installing office 97 on a window 2000
platform. it might something wrong with yr Cd or CD ROM. you may test yr CD
ROM by inserting a audio CD, if yr CD ROM can read from yr Audio CD mean yr
CD ROM fine and you might suspect yr office 97 CD. you may insert yr office
97 CD on the other workstation to check whether it can run properly.
