I recently purchased a new computer which runs WINDOWS XP
HOME version. I've subsequently loaded my OFFICE 97
software on it and everything seems to work well with the
exception of ACCESS. Whenever I try to open up ACCESS, I
get a popup message that states that the computer cannot
run ACCESS because it does not have a license to do so.
Is there a bug in the ACCESS program causing this snag? Is
there any way around it?

This is a Bug that has a workaround. I'm looking for the
KB article that discusses the registry change I did to
overcome this. You may want to do a search also.

Another way is to install Off2k (assuming you have it), to
a different directory than the suggested default, then
install Acc97 only. This approach will work but it's a
headache.

I am running XP with 97 and 2000 both Access versions, not
pretty but it works.

Good luck
