I'm getting another xp pro machine, but I don't have my Office 2003 discs.
If I put Office 97 on it, will I have problems, or will it even work?

Yes it will work fine.

Hi, Bubba.

There should be no problems. Office 97 should run just fine on WinXP
(either Home or Pro).

The only problematic is issue is an error regarding using the spell
checker.
Solution:-
Download the file here: Replace the Csapi3t1.dll file
http://www.tech-pro.co.uk/howto_010.html

An error occurred while the spelling was being checked.

Checkpoint: Go to Start/Run/Regeditand navigate to this key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Shared Tools

In the right pane where it reads: SharedFilesDir, verify that it
reads:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared under Data.
