45 minutes into an XP Pro upgrade from Win2K Pro I got a prompt asking for
the distribution CD for Office 2K Pro.
I cancelled out of it because I don't know where I put the Office 2K CD's
and just wanted to get the upgrade done and it seemed like it went on OK.
What was it looking for? and is some part of Office not going to work with
XP?
Can I come back later after I find the CD's and update whatever it was
that the setup program was looking for?

Thanks GWB

If XP appears to be running ok then to see if there really is a glitch with
Office just try to open and run an Office program. If the CD is really
needed you'll be asked again. Other than that Office should not have
interfered with the upgarde/install of XP. When you ran the Upgrade Advisor
was there any mention of issues with Office?

Unsure, but its unlikely to be anything serious.

I think from Office 2000 onwards, if there is a problem you can open any
office app and in the help menu somewhere there will be an option labelled
something like "Detect and Repair" which aims to... uh.. detect and repair
any problems with your office install.

I'm always surprised at "professionals" who STILL have to be asked "Have you
checked (event viewer / syslog)".

and it requires the office cd
