Office 2007 and adp

V

Vayse

Hi
We normally purchase Dell PCs. New Dell PCs now only come with Office 2007,
without a downgrade option.
Now I can purchase a non OEM version of office, but it is twice the price.

So, I've got to ask - what issues will using Office 2007 cause? The backend
to my adp is SQL Server 2000.
Will the adp work ok? Anyone here using Office 2007 with adp, in a mixed
Office environment?

Thanks
Vayse

yeah Access 2007 supports ADP

I can't wait for the next version of ADP in Office 2009!
I've heard of some really really exciting features

Hi Vayse,

I hate Office 2007 and I have same problems as you.
Our application (MemberAdmin) does not work with Microsoft Access 2007.
It doesn't matter which form I open - the application run into a "out of
memory" dialog.

I did not find out until yet what component is responsible for that.
Furthermore the usability of Microsoft Office 2007 is a horror.

Sorry for bad news ;-)

http://blogs.msdn.com/access I think

and then I interviewed back at MS about a year ago they promised me it would
stick around long term.

I am also VERY interested in promoting ADP survival
I mean WOW it's SUCH a better solution

I would love to find out more about your usage of ADP; do you use instant
messenger? (e-mail address removed)

thanks

Aaron Kempf is a known troll in the Access newsgroups. He posts lies
and misinformation. If he says this, my bet is that it's not true,
simply because it's coming from him.

I POST LIES?

you're the one that rants and raves about how JET REPLICATION is 100%
flawless.. and then I catch you explaining away a dozen bugs in the next
month

I don't spread lies

MDB is dead
ADP is the most popular extension in Access 2002, 2003

Go File, NEW and tell me how many options are MDB-specific?
How many options are ADP-specific?

Looks to me like ADP is MORE POPULAR than MDB!

and for the record, I'm incredibly interested in ADP survival also

but I'm not worried about it.. I know that it will be present for the next
several versions

I've seen WRITTEN GUARANTEES from Microsoft that these will be supported for
the next 10 years at least

so sorry; I'm quite unpopular around here ;)

My name is aaron. I love ADP more than anything else in the world.
I've got clients using ADP all over the Seattle region.

I would love to collaborate-- you should email me sometime
(e-mail address removed) or do you use instant messenger?

David;

for the record-- I never post misleading information
you guys do that

you preach worthless workarounds-- and you don't respect the boundaries of
ADP.
You constantly claim crap like 'its not included in 2007' even though that
is a blatant LIE.

nobody should need to .CLOSE and SET RST = NOTHING

you guys should not accept mediocrity

and backtracking to DAO?

MILITANTLY NOT ACCEPTABLE

I'll take a look.

I've never heard such a thing. I hope ADP will come back i future releases
of Office.

I love ADP, because they are the obvious step to definitely leave Access
and use more stable and powerful programming tools like Visual Studio .NET:
you can continue using VBA code, but you must learn using SQL Server, which
- I suppose - is mandatory, today.
I would love to find out more about your usage of ADP; do you use
instant messenger? (e-mail address removed)

I added you to my contacts.

I agree, SQL is mandatory, it makes me sick to find people sitll bitching
about MDB
