Office 2003 upgrade causes problem in Outlook

Recently installed Onenote and Project 2003 and found
Outlook 2000 now unable to delete or move multiple
messages. System hangs with no timeout. Found a similar
problem when upgrading to Office 2003 and so uninstalled.
Has anyone experience similar problem or know of solution?

Have you already cleared the Deleted Items folder and ran scanpst.exe
