office 2003 transfer to Vista

I want to load my office 2003 into a Vista machine. I loaded the CD into the
Vista machine but it says when I try to access it on the Vista computer, it
says a different edition. how can I get the warning off and how can I
transfer the rest of my files from my old computer to the Vista laptop in
office 2003.

You don't say the EXACT error message; that does help, lol.

Do you have a free trail version of Office 2007 on your computer?
Some OEM computers have it factory installed.

If you do, uninstall it, install Office 2003, and transfer your files by CD,
or Network cable, Memory Stick, etc
