Office 2003 Junk e-mail filter

Anyone have any idea if the Junk e-mail filter actually
works?

I've been trying to use High level, but did not see
anything going to my Junk E-mail Folder. I've tried to set
it to only safe sender's list, but mail is still going to
my Inbox.

Is there something i am missing here????
