I recently purchased a new laptop that had Office 2003 Trial installed. I do
not wish to "up-grade" to 2003 and want to return to 2002. The problem is
that I am no longer able to use Outlook. I have completely removed office
2003 Trial and loaded Office 2002. Everything else (word, excel, publisher)
work fine buy not Outlook. Would this have something to do with SP2 or SP3?
Any suggestions on how to get Outlook running again. Thank you in advance
for your assistance.

Go to Start > Run and type in: OUTLOOK.EXE , and hit enter.
Does Outlook launch or is there a specific error message?

Follow this procedure to repair your existing Office installation:

1. Open the Add or Remove Programs applet in your Control Panel.
2. Click once on the Microsoft Office entry to highlight.
3. Next, click on the "Change" button.
4. Afterward, select "Reinstall or Repair" and click Next.
5. Your existing Office installation will be repaired and files retained.

Thanks for the response....

I tried what was suggested but came up empty. When I try to open Outlook I
get the following messages:

"Unable to open yur default e-mail folder. Could not open item. Try again"
<OK>
"Would you like to open your default File System folder instead?"
<YES> = open with Fle System folders
<NO> = closes Outlook

I renamed to files and did the repair option. Still nothing. I am going
crazy here...

Although Carey didn't suggest it, I would recommend posting this in an
Office or Outlook newsgroup, as the gurus there have most likely dealt with
this issue before, and if not, they would be the ones with the most
knowledge on the subject, as this is an XP OS newsgroup and this is
definitely an Office/Outlook issue.
