Office 2000 Premium DIsk

I recently did a clean install of Windows98SE,

I had Office 2000 selected programs (Word,Excel, and Publisher) installed on
the original HDD and all was good.

Now my problem:

After the clean install of Win98SE (no problems) I added several programs
and then installed Disk #1 of Office 2000 and let it install completely. I
then rebooted
and updated the security patches from MS Premium(SP3), then went to the
Microsoft Office Update site and installed what every patches were required.

After completing the installation of the balance of my programs I realized I
forgot to install MS Publisher which is on Disk 2.
Well, I then selectively choose to install MS Publisher and the installation
went OK. The problem came when I went to MS Office Update site and was again
presented with security patches that would not install..

Is there an issue installing additional features after the security patches
are previously installed ?

What sequence should I follow?

Thanks in advance for suggestions?

Fortunately I have made HDD images at various points.

You indeed need to apply the updates for additional products as well; makes
sense, right?

The best order is to install everything first and then start updating since
you then don't have to visit the update site over and over again. Adding
features later on should work as well. What error do you get? You can also
download the standalone version of Publisher updates and install them
amnually;

Issue resolved:
I installed the second disk then ran SP1a patch then used the MS Office
update patch disk for sp3 and all worked out well.

Deleted the Office Sounds and reinstalled without issue

Thanks again

SP1a is indeed a required patch ;-)

Good to hear you've got it solved.
