OEM xp Pro install hangs after reboot.

I recently reformatted my western digital 10,000 rpm raptor drive, that used
to have a non-genuine version of windows installed. After formatting I am
trying to install a new genuine OEM Windows Xp Pro sp2 cd. Everything goes
smoothly until the computer reboots. The blue loading bar on the windows xp
loading screen always hangs at the exact same spot, just as it starts making
a fifth pass. Formatting again and attempting another reinstall has the same
result, also trying to repair the current semi-installation does not work
either. Please tell me there is a simple solution ... thx =)

It sounds like the machine doesn't like one or more of the drivers
installed.
Is the OEM CD the same brand as the machine?
If it is bios locked by manufacturer, it may not work anyway.

My computer is a home built model. I purchased the xp pro cd seperatrely,
not from a manufacturer.

Check your memory, and if you are using a burnt copy of your XP CD, try
using the original CD.
Also remove all hardware except the video, CD and hard drive. Remove any USB
or Firewire devices.
Please post back with your results.
