OEM XP PRO and file not working

I have XP PRO via OEM. My Ages of Empire does not work, even if I try to
reload it. I suspect a system file got deleted doing spy-ware work. I thought
to repair the XP software; I ahve looked over a bunch on threads on the
virtues of repairing XP. However, there is a question mark if using OEM
software...is this not possible or is there a special procedure? Thanks

It depends on the type of OEM.
Some OEMs furnish a recovery CD and not a Windows XP CD.
Generally those can not perform a Repair Installation like the retail
Windows XP CD.
Others such as Dell furnish a Windows CD.

Check your manual and/or contact the manufacturer for details.
