Hi all,

I want to know that if i buy the OEM version of vista or receive the upgrade
from moduslink and I buy a new HDD for my laptop (Acer TM 6410), can I
install the Vista on that new HDD without installing XP first on the drive?

Thanks,

If you have an upgrade, you may need to install Windows XP.
If the OEM is the full version and not an upgrade, there is no need to
install the prior operating system.

Jupiter...

I thought one could use the upgrade DVD to boot from the DVD and do a clean
install without entering the Vista key and then upgrade from within Vista
desktop using the key... is that incorrect?

Probably not. Ask Acer and/or "ModusLink." No one else will know how
Acer's installation DVDs are designed to work.
