Vista on a bigger HDD

I purchased an Acer laptop in Feb. 07 with Vista Home Premium installed. It
came with an Anytime Upgrade CD. And, I have a Vista license key sticker on
the system.
My question is: I have an 80Gb HDD in the system now. I want to put a 250Gb
drive in the system and continue using my OEM copy of Vista on the same
system. In other words, all I'm doing is swapping drives. The 80Gb drive will
not have Vista installed and the 250Gb drive will.
What do I need to do to transfer the license/activation from the 80Gb to the
250Gb??

Contact Acer support and request their Windows Vista
recovery disc. The "Anytime Upgrade" disc cannot be
used with the product key affixed to your Acer computer.
It can only be used to upgrade to a different version of
Vista and requires the purchase of a new license for the upgrade.

Purchase the 250gb hard drive, a USB 2.5in HDD enclosure, and Acronis
TrueImage.

Place the 250gb drive in the enclosure, and use TrueImage to make and copy a
clone from the installed 80gb drive to the 250gb drive. You will need to
ensure that the recovery partition is included.

Having done that, swap the drives around, and check for problems. If
everything is ok, you can format the original 80gb drive which will be
excellent for saving important stuff, or leave the present installation as
it is for use in emergencies, creating a partition on it for use as a backup
section..

Simply call Microsoft to reactivate the software.

If you buy a Seagate drive you can download Seagate disk wizard from their
web site.
This is acronis true image and it will allow you to image the existing
system to the new drive if you put it in a usb external enclosure.
You can then put the 80G drive in the enclosure and use it as external
storage.
Make sure you check if its SATA you need before you order the drive and the
enclosure.
If windows does ask to be activated just try online and if that fails use
the telephone method.
