OEM/Microsoft XP customized by the customer (re-distributable) direct from Microsoft?..

Does anyone know if Microsoft offers a way to purchase XP customized
down to the level of say: "no games, no internet explorer, no
communication drivers, i only want this or that service
running/installed" so that such a configuration could be resold. This
may actually be something that Dell or another company would offer in
conjunction with Microsoft.

Of course the dirty way I suppose would be to use SysPrep to prepare
such a system, but the desire is to have this configuration straight
from the OEM company.

The proper way may mean becoming a legitimate OEM-builder and
custom-build the machine and custom-install the OS and all other
applications. An alternative might be to come an OEM-VAR dealer
to one of the major OEM's, if this type of arrangement is still
in existence. (VAR = value-added retailer).

What about Windows XP embedded, in terms of being able to further
customize XP.. is the XP Embedded option advantageous/cheaper etc?

This wouldnt come from a retailer, but we would customize it.. I'm not
sure about the differences between XP Embedded and regular XP?
