OE SP2 - can't log onto Hotmail

H

Ham

I can no more log onto my hotmail account. The server log on window appears,
asking me to enter my e-mail address and password ( although they are
already there). The "remember password" check mark is also grayed out .

Also deleted the "Protected Storage System Provider" registry key and
recreated my hotmail account many times. The result is the same....

Thanks in advance

Try deleting the Account folder for Hotmail in Outlook Express and add it
back again. Right click on the butterfly and click "Remove Account". Go to
Tools > Accounts > Mail (tab) > Add > Mail and follow the wizards.

You can no longer access your Hotmail messages in Outlook and Outlook
Express if you have the free Hotmail account. You will need to pay for
a Hotmail account if you wish to continue doing this. Look on Hotmail's
homepage for further information.

I just logged on to my free Hotmail account from Outlook Express and
checked mail. I also received mail in that account (accessed from
Outlook Express) yesterday. I may be looking in the wrong place but I
couldn't find anything on their home page that stated they were
charging for an account. Shalom.

See http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=878462.

If you had been accessing your free Hotmail account in OE or OL prior to 27
Sept-04, you /should/ still be able to access it until Mar/Apr-05.
