OE 6 to Outlook '03 woes

I thought when I switched over to Outlook '03 I would be moving forward but so far I seem to have more can'ts than new cans

OE 6 let me switch identities by menu. Outlook will only let me exit and restart with a extra profile box to click

OE 6 got my mail as it launched. Outlook will only get new mail by clicking send/receive or F9

OE 6 sent my mail instantly. Outlook needs two clicks of send to deliver my new mail

OE 6 would dial out on a dial-up connection. Outlook tries to get new mail, errors out, then prompts for dialing, and requires more clicking of send/receive buttons to get mail (providing it hasn't hung up)

I am having a serious learning curve here an would appreciate any advice

Thank yo

Why did you switch?
If all you needed was a simple program to retrieve POP3/SMTP Mail, perhaps
OE was the better choice.

Outlook can easily be configured to do most of these things, but you haven't
provided any information as to your mail account type and connection type so
we cannot provide any instructions.

Thank you for the help

I am working with three systems. All are pop accounts
My system is broadband cable and my two others are on a dial-up
First my system with broadband, I miss the identities and getting my mail when the program launches
The other dial-up systems have a hard time dialing out when the send/receive is clicked.

Outlook uses profiles, not identities. I do not understand what you're
"missing."
State more clearly what it is you want Outlook to do with regards to mail
polling for each account type.
