OE 6 VERY Slow and Other Problems ...

Hello ...

I've been using OE 6 for a number of years. In recent months, it has
become more and more of a problem.

For one thing, it responds very slowing. Often, when I receive a new
e-mail and click on it, OE 6 just sits there for a while before doing
anything. Then it will often first show whatever Web page I have open
-- leaving OE 6. I will have to click on OE 6 to get back to it.

Then when I get back to it and click again on the e-mail to open it,
OE 6 usually sits there for a while before opening the e-mail.

This is irritating, especially if I'm in a hurry and receive an e-mail
and just want to read it quickly before going out or whatever. I have
to go through this whole routine of playing with it and waiting for it
to open.

Equally irritating, OE 6 usually takes a really long time to send an e-
mail. First, when I click response, it will sometimes take a while to
open an e-mail to respond.

And then, when I have typed the response and click "Send," it will
often sit there for a very long time. Sometimes it will sit there for
literally minutes. It gets frustrating, so I get up and do other
things, checking back to see if it has sent yet or is still sitting
there.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this? I am using
Windows XP and I have Verizon DSL.

Or -- are there any other programs similar to OE 6 that I could try
that might work more efficiently? I do like using something like OE 6
rather than using Verizon's e-mail system.

But right now, OE 6 is slow, frustrating and inefficient.

Any ideas/suggestions would be most appreciated!

You'll get a more expert answer if you post in a newsgroup that specializes
in Outlook Express. It's part of Internet Explorer and not Microsoft Office.
Microsoft Outlook is part of Office and so the two applications are not
related other than by a similarity of name.
