OE 6 and Outlook 2007

Harmon Koeltz

I've been trying all day to transfer the dbx folders from an XP computer
running OE 6 to a new Vista computer with Outlook 2007-fulll retail version.
I copied all the dbx files onto a CD then from the CD to the documents
folder of the new Vista computer. I tried the import function and my address
book transferred to the Outlook contacts. Can't get my folders or messaged
to import or transfer.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance

You need to import into Windows Mail and then export to outlook.

You have to make your msgs available in win.mail first.
Then you can *export* them from win mail to outlook

Wel, we tried to import to Windows Mail but no joy there either. Perhaps I
got to the dbx files the wrong way: I did a search for all files with a dbx
extension and copied them to a CD which I used to place them first on the
desktop and then in the documents folder.

Any other suggestions

Thanks again

I don't know any way to import a single DBX file. Extract the contents as EML files using one of these programs and drag the EML files into WinMail

Then use the Export \Import to Outlook

In WIndows Mail, click File>Import>Messages, select "Outlook Express 6",
click Next, select the "Import mail from an OE6 store directory", click OK,
browse to where you placed the DBX files, click Next, and follow the
remaining prompts. After the import, still in Windows Mail, click
FIle>Export>Messages and select Outlook as the destination.

Will try again but I don't recall seeing the option "Import mail from an OE6
store directory",
I will check when my wife gets home-she has the computer with her

Thanks
